Nordic Midsummer Fest

Kari will open the ceremony with horn prayers, lead longdans in the Viking Village, and share the flutes she made in Denmark and Norway last summer!

Friday Workshops
3pm KvinneKraft: Singing while dancing Kari Tauring, Carol Sersland, and Mary Klockeman team up to teach Nordic Movement, the connection of runes in the body, and ballad dance.
 

4pm Join Kari in a seminar: Sounds of the Iron Age Music and Nature instruments featuring her bone and tree flutes, cow and goat horns, and even hear lake grass - the original reed instrument!

 

Saturday Concert: join KvinneKraft for a concert and hear them sing for dancing all night long!

Third Thursday of the Month 6-8 pm

Explore staff rhythm, Nordic folk songs and concepts like the World Tree in a fun and casual setting. Beginners and children are welcome. Bring a clean staff (the size of a broom handle), a cross rhythm stick (the size of a wooden spoon) and a stav board (like a cutting board).
sets will be available to borrow as well.
