North Carolina Bound!
I am so honored to be traveling to John Campbell Folk School with Norwegian tradition bearing friends Carol Sersland and Art Bjorngjeld.
Decades before I joined the Twin Cities Nordic Music and Dance scene in 2006, Carol and Art danced and performed together.

It is 100 years since the Danish community founded the John Campbell Folk school and we are bringing our favorite Danish songs and dances with us to help celebrate. I am deeply feeling the loss of our friend, Sarah Maas. She taught me so much about folk dance, dress, and crafts.
It has been 200 years since the first organized crossing of Norwegians into the United States this year. So we are doubly excited to share our cultural songs and dances with everyone at the Long-Dance weekend. Speaking of which, we will be sharing several favorite longdances that predate Norway and Denmark by a few hundred years.
I am grateful for every opportunity I get to sing, dance, and play with these elders in my community. They have honed my own relationship to Nordic movement and dance. If you are in Minneapolis area, join me on October 15 at Tapestry to see just how much I have learned!

Come down to Norway House on October 16th and join Art and me as we sing and play and dance from 5-7 for Hygge Happy Hour!
