Kari TauringVölva Stav

Völva is a reclaimed word from Old Norse which means staff carrier. The women and men who were Völvas and Viktis carried their healing, far-seeing, ceremonial, and magical practice throughout Scandinavia and the Baltic. Kari has learned this tradition through study of archeology, runes and written texts (Eddas and Sagas), practice of her folk traditions, stories and songs and through direct contact with her ancestors and disr using Völva Stav.

Völva Stav is Kari's system for teaching and practicing the staff carrying tradition. Völva Stav is the culmination of a life time of discipline in spiritual, musical, and martial arts, Norse cosmology, theology, and metaphysics. It's essential goal is to create alignment with the world tree, perceive and heal the oorlog. Healing patterns of Inherited Cultural Grief inherent in all cultures severed from their deep root traditions, is essential for creating a healed future for our children.
