Sandra Arseth
- All around Plantswoman. Sandy has been studying, growing, and
utilizing plants in the Midwest region since they first allowed
women to work with planting at the Arboretum in 1974. Her deep spiritual
connection to all living things and the energy things produce is
so clear from her ways and her words.
She has been
propagating, and making use of medicinal plants in the Greater Longfellow
Neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota and several sites in the
outlying areas and Wisconsin for many years. She volunteers and
shares her knowlege and skills extensively throughout the community.
Many of us are indebted to her for her generocity with her knowlege
and experience. Her way of steeping St. John's Wort into olive oil
keeps my 40 year old body supple and happy! I thank her.
Her work in
creating sustainable and harvestable garden areas, especially in
the urban environment of Minneapolis has led her to collaborate
with many community resources including Kari, Lise Wolfe and United
Plant Savers.
When I watch
her with the children, especially my youngest son, I breathe in
her wise woman self like a whiff of true home. She is a treasure
and a resource I would always want to sustain!
