What are Intuitive Readings or Divination?

For me it is a form of prayer.
Prayer is a straight forward way to work out our issues, contact our angels and connect with the Divine. Throughout the ages, humans have developed prayer with words, movement, art works and song as tools to help us connect with and communicate with the Divine. Some prayer tools include beads, mandalas, sand gardens, or rune shapes. Many prayer forms also serve to unify the human community within the Divine plan. The runes are one such prayer tool. I use dream work and animal cards for divination or intuitive readings as well.

How would you use the runes as a prayer tool in a Reading?

It's a mini ritual, actually. Though it only takes a few minutes.

The questioner (you) sits and quiets the mind. Relaxation is the first step to getting the ego out of the way of the rest of your brain. Next you mix up the runes lying face down on my tray and think about your question. When you feel ready, pass your hand over the runes laying before you. When you feel the impulse, pull one, two or three runes at random. You may name them past, present and future if you like. Or you may name them "job in North Dakota", "job in New York" and "Overseas Tour" or what ever is relevent to your question or issue. Or don't name them at all. You see, it is an organic process and it is your process.

Then I (as the reader) look at the letters and tell you what they are, how they relate to each other, a little history if appropriate. Since I have studied the runes for so many years I can read them like English! This allows me to quickly read for you the patterns and meanings of the runes you chose. You and your divine connection are the user of this tool. I simply tell you what they say.

Do I have to tell you my question?

No. In fact, I prefer not to know your question before I give an intitial reading. As I read what you pull, you may reveal as much as you like about your thoughts and questions when you were mixing and choosing.

If this is like prayer, how do I know who I am praying to?

If you pray frequently, you will know what it feels like. For me it is always joyful and deep feeling. It often helps to say the name of your god like a mantra in your head while you are mixing the runes. Ultimately, if something doesn't feel right to do then you better re-think doing it!

Do the runes tell me what will happen in the future?

I believe humans were created with free will. Our astrological chart, personality inventories (like the Myers Briggs), our education and upbringing etc. all indicate the likely reactions we will have to our life situations and how we will act. Yet these things are only indicators of possible choices. We are not bound to them. We are ultimately responsible for creating our life condition through the choices we make every day. So, no, there is nothing that will tell you exactly what the future will bring. There are only hints of possibilities and our dedication to choosing a positive life. (Destiny as one human component)

Is Divination anti-Christian?

The answer to this depends on your own personal relationship with Christianity, your traditions, and your comfort level. There are multiple accounts of prophesy, dream interpretation, and other spiritual phenomenon in the Bible. My grandfather found wells using divining rods of willow and was a very devout Christian. People will say yes and people will say no.

A danger with using tools of any kind comes from a user who assigns power to the tool itself. Know thyself!
