Kari adds Drew Miller on bass, dulcimer, and stav to form a dynamic
duo of Nordic Roots music.
Drew’s continuing mission is to explore the strange worlds of ancient and traditional folk music, and seek out new ways to bring that essence into modern contexts. In the fertile Minneapolis music scene of the mid-1980s, he founded Boiled in Lead “...the prime purveyor of a style of Celtic music infused with punk-rock attitude...“ (The Onion.) BiL are going strong in their 26th year as “...a legendary figure in the field of American folk rock thanks to its unconventional approach.” (World Music Central). He also plays bass in Felonious Bosch, runs the Omnium label, and works as a graphic designer, technology consultant and digital coach.
His passion for Nordic music began with the band Garmarna — after releasing their first two albums on Omnium in the mid-1990s, he worked for many years for the NorthSide label, who have released over 90 titles representing the best of the “Nordic Roots” music scene in Sweden, Finland and Norway. Accordingly, it was a no-branier to team up with Kari. As a Huldu, Drew mostly plays an electric solid-body dulcimer, an Appalachian folk instrument that is closely related to the Norwegian langelik.
The duo's latest is Live At the Capri, recorded September 2009.

A six-track studio EP is available from Omnium Records, sung in Votic, Icelandic, Norwegian & English. (purchase)
Depending on the type of event and the available budget, we can add several other musicians to the mix.
