In
all of Scandinavia, the children are made special in these dark
nights with special foods, presents, and a dance all their own. My
mother's people did a circle dance around the Christmas Tree every
year. In Iceland they held a Jòlabarnaball (This is how it
is spelled...all one word). Ours was led by Ken
Sherman, raised in Iceland, and included these songs from his
childhood.
1. Nu Skal
Segya ( Now I'll say) - This is a Schottische MP3
with Ken on fiddle and JR Hartley on Bass...a
rehearsal tool.
When sung it
goes something like this (English)
Now I'll say
Now I'll say
What are these children doing?
They are ......(whatever)
They are.......
Yup you betcha that's what they're doing
2. Gekk Eg Yfir Sjo Og Land - Sung, with movements (led by
Maren and Kari on the verse - clap, laugh, stomp. MP3
with Ken singing and playing guitar, JR Hartley on Bass...a rehearsal
tool recorded at Home Bass Audio
